Let’s talk about Baubles

I have a confession to make… my Christmas tree has been up since the 20th of November :#) and I’m not even sorry!

As soon as the evenings get darker I start thinking about putting up the tree- the twinkling lights really cheer me up and make the living room all cosy <3

This year I’ve been spending my evenings binge watching Gilmore Girls and making these felt decorations- a fox and a reindeer. I’m so happy with how they turned out. For someone who barely knows how to sew and failed textiles in year 9 for breaking a sewing machine, I think I did OK 🙂 .The machine thing was an accident but my teacher didn’t believe me haha…cowbag!.

I’m thinking of writing a tutorial post on how to make your own- would you guys be interested in that? In the meantime, check out my previous post for a tutorial on making snow covered pinecones 🙂

I also used some felt to personalize our stockings this year, cause y’know, I’m rock’n’roll like that.

The rest of my decorations are from Ikea, which I talked about in a previous post, and Canadian Tire. I’m especially excited about the geometric gold ornament- it cost $3 (£1.50) and after Christmas I’m planning on flipping it over and whacking a tea light in it to make a cheap and fancy candle. Who knew you could get something so fancy from Canadian bloody Tire of all places? Stick with your girl on this one- I’ll hook you up! 😉

And here is the finished result! Ta da! What do you think? I love being nosy and seeing how other people decorate their trees at this time of year. There have been so many beautiful ones tinseling up the blogosphere already and I’m all about that! Christmas is the one time of year you get to let your glitter flag fly- so why not go overboard? 😀

What’s on your tree this year?
