Travel Guide | An Irish Wedding!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of travelling to Dublin to celebrate the wedding of some lovely people. I’d never been to Ireland before so I was beyond excited! The first thing that struck me when I got off the plane is just how green everything is. By the end of August in England everything is starting to look a little parched after a long summer. Not so in Ireland. There seemed to be a permanent bank of dreamy cloud and intermittent drizzly rain which keeps everything the most verdant, fresh green I’ve ever seen. There was also a mournful, soulful quality to the place which I’d read about in books but never quite appreciated.

We stayed at The Radisson Blu St Helen’s  where we wandered the grounds and ate in the Orangerie which has a wonderful old ballroom feel. This mint jumper is my current weekend favourite and it’s only £5 in the sale! Perfect for lazy Sundays.

This dress was an old Zara find from a charity shop. I couldn’t quite believe it when I found all that frothy white lace just sitting there waiting to be picked up! I wore it to the pre-wedding BBQ as I don’t like to wear white to weddings. My heels are from Asos and at first I was nervous about the ‘barely there’ aspect and them not being comfortable, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were quite comfy and I managed to last all day in them!
My one regret from the trip is that we didn’t stay longer and spend some time in Dublin city itself- but I can safely say that Ireland captured my imagination. I will definitely be coming back 😉

Thank you Philippe and Eimear for a wonderful weekend 🙂 wishing you all the happiness and love in your future!
