Room Tour | My Favourite Part of My Bedroom
My favourite part of my bedroom is the space just beside my bed. I try to keep it as minimalist and clutter free as possible. I’ve amassed a small collection of beautiful things which are a joy to look at and inspire me when I wake up each morning.
Quite possibly my favourite thing is my butterfly poster. It’s actually just a cheap sheet of wrapping paper I bought for £3.50 at Urban Outfitters. I love the vintage feel of it, the fact that the species names are listed on the bottom. It really grabs your attention as soon as you walk into the room. I couldn’t believe someone would want to buy it only to fold it and give it to someone to tear up!
I bought a cheap frame for it in a charity shop for £3. Charity shops are always selling cheap frames and they’re a great way to make cheap posters look more elegant.
Next we have my collection of random crap bits and bobs I seem to use on a daily basis.
I bought this gorgeous floral bowl from Urban Outfitters for £6. It’s tiny but it’s the perfect place to store my earrings at night!
I found this rock on the beach whilst on a walk with my Dad and brother. I was watching a Ted Talk which introduced the concept of ‘gratitude rocks’. The idea behind it is that you use a simple object to remind you to be grateful of what you have every day.
I didn’t set out looking for my gratitude rock, but something about the different colours and textures on this one struck me as really cool. So I picked it up and now every time I see or touch it I’m reminded of the simple pleasure of walking on the beach near my home with my dad and brother on a winter’s day. Thanks rock!
I also keep a trusty Primark candle next to my bed for cosy evenings reading books. They burn for ages and they’re only £2! I also found a ten pack of these beautiful match boxes in pound land. They’re sturdier than regular matches which is great for me because I’m clumsy and I keep breaking them!
