Travel Diaries | My Favourite Bakery in Covent Garden

I recently spent a lazy Sunday in Covent Garden, and I stopped by my favourite bakery Cutter & Squidge. They make delightful cakes, lovely smoothies and, my personal favourite, their unique Biskies.

According to the Cutter & Squidge website, this is the deal with Biskies:

‘A Biskie is a fresh, unique handmade sandwiched dessert. A creation of biscuit/cookie/cake filled with our special lightened buttercream, handmade jams, caramels and other delights. We specially created our buttercream so that we could halve the amount butter and sugar we use and pack it full of real fruit, premium chocolate and other delicious ingredients for maximum flavour.

Not to be confused with a macaron or whoopie pie, a Biskie is a moorish blend of crisp, soft, chewy, cakey and creamy delivering a massive flavour fiesta!

We make everything from scratch and where possible we use real British ingredients or source from British producers where we can’t. Our eggs are always free range and our butter is always British creamery butter (mmm real butttter).

Our flavourings and colourings are all natural… the hulk green of our green tea biskie is purely from the premium grade matcha green tea we use and our crazy pink raspberry biskie. That’s all pure raspberry!

Our decorations are created using our homemade all natural colourings which we make from fruits, vegetables, spices and flowers. We even make our own sprinkles!

I’m slowly working my way through the flavours (and jeans sizes). My personal favourites are Pistachio and Pimms cocktail- they’re almost too pretty to eat!
If Biskies aren’t your thing, Cutter & Squidge also produce cakes, these delightful mini meringue puffs and ice cream

This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re out and about in London. It’s the perfect pick me up on a rainy day!
