This summer I went to Wimbledon- we didn’t fancy joining the que for tickets, so we meandered around Wimbledon village, and had a picnic on a golf course whilst we listened to the tennis on the radio. It was perfect. The whole of Wimbledon showed their support with giant tennis balls everywhere and everyone wearing sweat bands.
Wimbledon Park’s dreamy wildflower meadow…
I wore green ballet pumps as a subtle nod to the Wimbledon colours.
I’m not sure this goose was impressed….
It wouldn’t be Wimbledon without strawberries and cream! so we spread out a blanket and ate some in the shade whilst listening to the live commentary. Occasionally the crowd’s cheers would float across the green towards us so we always knew when someone had won a point!
This bag went perfectly with the strawberries and cream theme, it was only £5 in the Accessorize sale -such a bargain- hurry if you’d like to snap it up!
Two bags…it’s a thing! someone had to carry the strawberries I also picked up a free sweat band from a kind stranger handing them out at Wimbledon train station. Despite the fact I couldn’t hit a ball to deflect it from my face (true story) I thought I’d represent the side!
Despite the heat this swan momma was on it. She had her signet underneath her and she was not tolerating any nonsense! This is as close as I dared to get without disturbing her (full zoom and all). Fixing me with one quizzical eye she briefly contemplated the strange creature with no feathers crouching at a funny angle in the grass, before continuing on with her business unconcerned. Beautiful.
I hope you enjoyed Wimbledon as much as we did!
How did you enjoy the sunshine?
