Travel Guide | Adventures in Sicily!

I’m still reminiscing about my time in Sicily. I went with my friends last month and we had the best time- I’m still feeling all relaxed! We stayed in San Vito, a small idyllic fishing town on the coast. We were the only brits there as there were mainly Italian families which was quite refreshing! I’d love to tell you about all of the adventures we had, but quite honestly we mostly just laid around on the beach and went dancing at night! 😉 Here’s a selection of the photos I didn’t include in my last post. I’d definitely recommend Sicily as a holiday destination, especially if you want to eat amazing food, drink good wine and relax on a perfect white sandy beach 🙂 (FYI this post is a quite image heavy- I was in love with the place and couldn’t stop taking photos- enjoy!)

As Sicily is quite close to Africa, it’s infused with a moroccan vibe. Hence the tents and beautiful ceramics. The cous cous there is amazing- try it with tuna.

I made friends with this little guy and his owners, the Sicilian people are really friendly and when I showed them I’d taken a picture of their dog they were really pleased…at least I think they were (I don’t speak Italian!)

This was a silly shot, but I actually think it came out pretty neat

The beach was overlooked by this gorgeously rugged Sicilian mountain, and there was nothing better than returning home from a day at the beach to eat ice cold apricots out of the fridge (the fresh fruit markets are a must).

The great thing about going on a girl’s holiday is that we could take aaaages getting ready and we didn’t have our other halves waiting in the living room shouting at us to hurry up! This lead to hair braiding, gold temporary tattooing and quite a bit of outfit swapping. We’re not sorry. (ps: how beautiful is my friend’s hair???)

When it comes to souvenirs I don’t usually buy much. When I’m travelling I prefer to spend my money on experiences and keep mementos like pressed flowers and ticket stubs instead. However I couldn’t resist this trio of beautiful ceramic birds. I bought one for my mam, my grandma and me. When I presented them to the other two though we all agreed that they’re best kept together, as they look as if they’re having a conversation, so they all found a home in my Mam’s living room.
